On June 30, my cousin Robert Henrichs, MRA #740, and I were heading up to my cottage located in Newport, VT. We decided to make it a day trip so we avoided interstates and took slower roads. One of these roads, US Rte 5, took us to the town of Greenfield, MA.
Waiting for a light at the intersection of Routes 5 & 2A, Bob noticed a lady falling to the side of a car on the other side of the intersection. Bob said, 'I think that lady just got hit by a car.' We shot over there promptly and sure enough this is what had happened. We stopped traffic and an ambulance was summoned. Robert being trained as an EMT and serving on his local fire department was therefore able to render immediate assistance. Thankfully the woman's injuries were not life threatening.
I enclose some photos of the incident I took with Bob's camera (while wearing my white MRA T-shirt). Bob is the tall guy with the green EMT shirt and black denim pants.
I hope you agree that some recognition is in order for Robert from the Club. Both for his willingness to jump in and help. And for the positive recognition he displayed for all motorcyclists.
