My first tip is a simple and easy one:
When I lube my control cables, instead of taking them apart to use a cable luber I simply fill a sryinge with oil,(use something larger than an insulin syringe.) attach a large needle and insert it through where the clutch lever goes into the bracket to hold it on the handlebars. You can get it into the cable housing and inject the oil. I used this as an aircraft mechanic to lube pivot points and bushings on clamshell thrust reversers. Syringes make great micro lubers. This method could also be used to lube throttle cables by opening the throttle housing and injecting into the cable housings. I have found this makes less of a mess than the lubers or the old paper towel around the cable housing with the spray tube from a WD-40 can jammed in there. Just make sure to remove the oil and clean it out with isopropyl alcohol or the plunger will swell up and not work.
The best thing about this tip is it's quick, easy and free.
When I looked at my rear tail light area something was ugly about it. I had to tinker with it. I hated how that reflector hung below the license plate, it looks like an after thought. To my joy , I found it was just bolted on. A 10 mm wrench took care of that. Better but still a little ugly. I noticed that the license plate bracket had 2 little "ears" poking out from behind the plate and my chrome license plate frame. I marked where they over hung and off they came with my cut off wheel. There is just enough left so the bolt slots are still in tact. I primered and coated it with black paint. Now it looks much better.
