  1. The Jardines are definitely for the 'loud crowd'. Some complained that they were so loud that they got rid of them. Those that liked loud loved them.
  2. The Jardine Megaphones need an extra set of clamps not included with the set. Jardine will provide them if you call. You might mention this at the time you buy them to faster service.
  3. The only exhausts that got rave reviews for finish were the Vance and Hines. The others seem to have minor issues (such as welds that could have been brushed up better, etc.). Therefore, V&H were marked as excellent, whereas others were acceptable. No one mentioned a defect that caused return of the product.
  4. Has removable baffle.
  5. Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price
  6. Must use stock gaskets.

Other: Vance & Hines and Jardine Megaphones lower exhaust may interfere with work on the rear wheel, and may have to be 'dropped' for these repairs. To get increased performance, it is generally agreed that jetting is required on all aftermarkets, if those aftermarkets increase flow.

Notes from Dave Dodge

On the '96 model Magna test bike the stock rear wheel horsepower was 74.5, tested on a SuperFlow Dyno. Adding the needle shims with stock mufflers bump the power to 77 RWHP, and it removed the midrange flat spot. We added the Cobra Slash-Cut mufflers and the power dropped to 76, until we changed to the #105 main jets. The last test made produced 81.7 RWHP with the DRP shim and jet kit, new spark plugs, new stock air filter.
