Forward cruiser pegs without the crash bar
First I found a set of $39.00 chrome pegs. I have seen these in JC Whitney's catalog for $29.00. You will also need two 3/8-16-5 inch bolts.
Remove the factory front engine mount bolts and replace them with the 3/8 ones. The pegs I bought had 3/8 by 24 pitch threads. I could not find any 5 inch bolts that pitch, so out came the tap and dye set: tap to 3/8x16 pitch. The pegs came with a U shaped clamp and a spacer to slide the 3/8"x5 inch bolts in through the engine mount from the backside. Install the spacer, screw the peg to the bolt and tighten.
That's all! They fold up nicely when not in use and look clean, not like something stuck up there. Enjoy stretching those legs all....
