$7 VTX headlight extension

Buy these items:

Stanley 50mm mending plates

The items are zinc plated so they have some level of rust resistance. You will actually need four of the acorn nuts and bolts, only two are pictured. Once you have the parts, this project is easy and only takes about 45 minutes including readjusting the headlight.

Do this:

  1. Drill the holes out to 1/4 inch
  2. I cut a about an eighth of an inch from each end which helps the install but may not totally be necessary.
  3. Readjust your headlight

This pushes the headlight forward 1 and 3/16 inch which helps show off the nice headlight bucket as well as completely clearing the ODO cable.

Thanks to Steve Chervitz for this project!
